Disneyworld (Day 1 – Travel and Give Kids the World)

Our big adventure finally here, we set off for Orlando. We left a cold and snowy Iowa behind and were VERY ready for some sun and fun.

The first day we spent quite a bit of time getting there (about 9-10 hours total), but Elayna was SUCH a fantastic traveling partner that it allowed us to have some fun even on the way there. She was so excited about everything. Flying, seeing us soar above the clouds, writing in her journal… everything.

Once we finally arrived at Give Kids the World we were all pretty excited. The sun was shining, grass and trees were green, and the staff there was amazing. We spent the rest of our first day just exploring Give Kids the World and playing. Elayna was so happy to be there.

Before we headed to our villa for the night we got to participate in a fun trivia “game show” at the theater there in GKTW. Elayna and Jake were a great team and Elayna was giggling like crazy and giving high fives every time she got an answer right (she did good too)!

That first night she did one of the things she had been super excited about (she wrote about it in her journal while waiting at the airport)- she had a rabbit (Miss Merry- a GKTW friend) tuck her into bed for the night. It was hilarious and adorable and such a fantastic start to our week of fantasy and imagination. The Give Kids the World complex is such a magical place…. and only for families like ours. They make sure the kids feel special.
