Elayna is such a lucky girl. Her GG Ruth Elaine made her the most beautiful quilt for her big girl bed!
Her room is becoming the girl’s room that I always dreamed of for a daughter (pictures coming soon!).
Ruth is a very talented quilter (and that’s an understatement). Most of you will have seen her work in our home at one point or another, or in photos. She gives her time and energy and makes quilts for so many people, and I really feel like they are priceless… each one made with real love and generosity. I’m sure anyone who is on the receiving end of a gift like this is honored, as we are, with the thoughtfulness of it. It’s a great feeling. To know someone thought of you and spent the time to make you something so beautiful.
Ruth designed this quilt specifically for Elayna. In fact, it has some of the same material in it that Jackie used to make the valance for her room, so it all goes together perfectly.
Most importantly? Elayna adores it. I’m not sure she understands how much work went into it, but she knows GG made it just for her and that it is a big girl’s quilt for a big girl’s bed. That was apparently enough to inspire dancing and singing and sillyness when I told her I wanted to take a few pictures of her in front of her special quilt.
Think she likes it? 😉
When I asked her what she was going to do with the quilt, she said “sleep like this!” and posed for me. Ha!
