Fourth Of July & Baptism

Elayna’s first 4th of July was a big day for her… celebration and baptism.

Jake was baptized on the 4th of July by the Zion Church in Gowrie, Iowa… and so was Elayna (32 years later). It was fun to do something and know it carried such traditions in her family.
Elayna also wore the baby ring that has been passed down from Grampa Steve, to Daddy, to her. And the heart shaped locket that Gram Jackie bought her (also a tradition). AND the locket that Mommy used on her wedding bouquet to keep the (Great) Grandmas who are gone, near to us when we have special days. She behaved perfectly and didn’t even mind the water being put on her head. Afterward, we all went back to Great Grandma’s for dessert (we had already had lunch there).

In the evening we went to Great Papa Mike’s house for dinner, and then decided against taking Elayna to watch fireworks. Instead, it was bedtime for her and Mommy & Daddy went back to watch them.

All in all, a busy and wonderful day.
