Happy Father’s Day!

I hope that all of the dads out there have a fabulous day today!

Elayna is an especially lucky little girl in the daddy department. She has a daddy who loves her unconditionally. One who would rather be with her than anywhere else. One who thinks she is truly the most beautiful, smart, funny and amazing little lady who ever lived. She has a daddy who would give up his cereal to her if she decides she wants it. One who will pretend to be “Prince Eugene” and dance with Elayna (aka Rapunzel) to the same songs over and over (and over and over and over…). One who will play Angelina Ballerina with her, and actually participate in the dance moves of the game. One who will lay right down on the floor and play ponies, cars, or princesses with her. One who will build her a tent… and then crawl inside and read her a book.
She has a daddy who would truly do anything to make his little girl happy. How many girls can say that?

Actually, I am pretty lucky myself. I knew that Jake would be a good father when we got together. He is kind and generous and intelligent. He enjoys his time with the people he loves and chooses family over most anything. He was as excited about parenthood as I was when I was pregnant. Still, I can’t help but feel like I hit the jackpot with him… I knew he was an amazing man, and that he would be a good dad, but I am still in awe of how great of a parenting partner he really turned out to be. He helps me parent Elayna every step of the way. He wants to be involved in teaching her, exploring the world with her, loving her, disciplining her, and having fun with her. He chooses, consistently, to be present in her life. I couldn’t be more proud of the father that he is.

Yep. Elayna and I are lucky ladies indeed.

We love you, Jake! Thank you for being our hero, and the best daddy around!

I made a super short video of Elayna answering some questions about her dad. It’s awfully cute, even though you can tell that a three year old only stays interested for about one minute at a time. 😉

Here is a quick little part two that I couldn’t help but add in.

And because Elayna also wanted to do a video about Papa, here is some more cuteness. Kind of funny the way she answered some things similarly.
