For Mother’s Day this year Jake made me a sweet card with a poem inside. It went like this:

” Mommy,

You make me happy when I’m sad.
You give me milk, and that’s da bomb.
Days spent with you are always rad.
You’re my best friend and favorite mom.

Love, Elayna”

It was very cute. He used one of the pictures I took with her holding the Happy Mother’s Day sign up on the front of the card, and he had her hold the pen while signing her name inside. =)

For my present, we decided to get Elayna her first set of finger paints and canvas. She painted me a beautiful piece of art which I promptly framed.
It is (of course) the first of her masterpieces. I am certain that many, many more will follow. She is considering a whirlwind tour where she would complete the rest of her limited edition pieces (3 total, on canvas) before her 6 month birthday. A herculean task, indeed. 😉
